Multiple-Choice/True/False

The CRCS™ is 130 questions. There are approximately 20 true/false questions and 110 multiple-choice questions. The passing score for this portion of the exam is 75%.

The exam is timed, and exam-takers will have 1.5 hours to finish the exam. 

Practical Exam Portion 

The exam also consists of four client fact patterns. Advisors will have an additional 24 hours to complete the practical portion of the exam.

Advisors will be allowed to use whatever resources they have at their disposal (such as Excel spreadsheets, software, etc.) to create the most optimal Roth conversion designs.

For those who want to make sure they won’t have any issues creating designs for and providing the numbers needed for the four client fact patterns, it would be prudent to gain access to OnPointe (the most accurate software in the industry when running Roth IRA conversion numbers). Advisors will have to break down the numbers from their designs and indicate if the conversion should be recommended or not, and why.
